Turmeric is not water soluble. It is recommended to increase bioavailability and absorption to make turmeric into a golden paste by combining turmeric with black pepper and coconut oil, cold pressed olive oil or linseed oil which can then be added to either wet or dry food.
Pets prone to urinary stones should not be given turmeric as it can increase urinary oxalate levels.
